Gradual opening of the Midtre Gauldal community

Nyhet Publisert av Kjestin Kosberg , 09.04.20

On April 7th the government decided that after April 20th, some of the infection prevention measures we have lived with over the past month will be lifted or eased. Midtre Gauldal Municipality is following up on the new provisions concerning its services accordingly.

The government plans to gradually and in a controlled manner reopen society from April 20th.
Midtre Gauldal Municipality will follow the national plan and guidelines for this, and we have started preparations for it to happen in such a way that everyone can feel safe.

Schools and kindergartens
The government decided to gradually open kindergartens and schools after Easter.

On April 20th, we will reopen kindergartens.
On April 27th, our schools will open for pupils from 1st to 4th grade as well as SFO.

It has not yet been decided when the schools will open for pupils in 5th-10th grade. These pupils continue with homeschooling as before.

It will be a controlled opening, where parents, children/pupils and staff must be sure that infection control measures are taken care of.
Read more about the background for the decision on the Directorate of Health's website.

Further information will be given from the individual kindergarten and school after Easter.

Reopening of other municipal services
Healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists, psychologists and others can meet their patients face to face from April 20th - under one condition: There must be an professional standard for infection control in place. It will be created by FHI (Public Health Institute) in collaboration with the professional associations/unions. We will come back with more specific information on how to offer these services shortly after Easter.

The national cabin ban (for cabins in another municipality than the owner inhabits) will be lifted from April 20th.
Unless something unforeseen arises, Midtre Gauldal will also lift the cabin ban from April 20th.  After this it is no longer punishable to spend the night at a lodge/cabin. Although, the advice to avoid unnecessary leisure trips will still apply.

Cultural and sporting events
The ban on cultural and sporting events and other events that cannot meet the requirement of 2 meters distance will apply until 15th of June. The government will make a new assessment. By May 1st, it will decide on major events this summer.

Sports activities can be carried out if the Directorate of Health's distance and group recommendations are followed.

Our nursing and care institutions are still closed to visitors. Unfortunately, we must prepare ourselves for this being the situation for some time to come.
